The Story On the map of Spooner Bay, there is the warning, "Beware the Dragons!" written behind the Dragon Lines of Safety. But little girl Tildy still wishes to take her boat out to the Bay. A storm comes and carries her little boat far out into the bay. When the storm clears, she finds herself among a hoard of dragons. They toss her up and down as if playing a beach ball. When the dragons find out that Tildy is not there to play with them, they start crying and telling her how lonesome it is to be out in the bay with no visitors ever. Tildy then brings the whole gang back to town and the story ends with those dragons living happily alongside the people of Spooner Bay. The green, scaly, dragons resemble seahorses. They have big round eyes that characterize them as kind and child-like. They live in the water but have wings to fly in the sky.
