Bernard of Scotland Yard

A well-rounded story makes this book much more fun to read than "Oh see Jane." Noticing the author's name is Bernice Freshet; I wonder how the hero's name is Bernard. This nicely illustrated book has all the intrigue and pathos of an English mystery, complete with English terms. It all starts with aunt Hilly's Visit to Bernard's old brownstone house at the top of Beacon Hill in Boston Massachusetts and takes us across the Atlantic and a mystery of mysterious jewel disappearances.
