Belated Bride

Thirty-two-year-old Lucy Odum, registered nurse, returns to her north Florida home town thinking her high school boyfriend, Scott Buford, was deceased. Lucy finds Scott very much alive. This is your typical easy-to-read entertaining romance. However, Charlotte Hughes, the author chose to had a "side aspect" of Lucy's mother as being diabetic. I found the emphasis on the mother's diet and change in lifestyle (exercise) to be an added dimension to the storyline. I also enjoyed the author's use of wit and humor intermingled throughout the paperback. Then, I discovered Ms. Hughes has co-authored six books with the popular author, Janet Evanovich. These six books may have to be added to my "to be read" pile.
