What is prayer? What right do we have to pray? What should we pray about? Ruvolo explains the privilege, purpose, and content of God-honoring prayer in this uplifting study. This description may be from another edition of this product.
When we pray, we truly do approach the throne of God. How does He want to be approached? If I could recommend just one book on prayer, this would be it. Ruvolo concisely, simply and clearly lays out the biblical way to pray. I had never previously thought to pray using the Bible's example--the Lord's prayer, of course, and ACTS, but I was always pretty skimpy on the A(doration)C(ontrition)T(hankfullness) and heavy on the S(upplication). Now I have a good book with new and RIGHT thoughts about how God wants us to come to him, instead of how I want to come to God. Carol Ruvolo is my favorite study book author, and this is my favorite Ruvolo book. If you're looking for a good personal or group study book on prayer, you've found it.
A radical approach!
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
Carol Ruvolo approaches prayer from what would be considered a radical direction for most Christians -- praying God's own words back to Him. Her idea of "open-book" prayer takes our focus off of ourselves and teaches us to focus on God by praying according to His revealed will. Anyone serious about revitalizing their prayer life can find no better inspiration than this book.
