Wonderfully Witty!

Tax attorney, Penelope Sue Fields has become one of New Orleans' top experts, in under six months time. Romantically, the prim and proper Penelope is sadly lacking. After being passed up by males most of her life, it comes as quite a surprise when attorney David Hinson, begins to pursue Penelope. David is attractive, wealthy, and intent on marrying her but turns out to be so "not" exciting, Penelope invents a lover, Raoul. Undercover cop, Tony Olano is investigating David, who has mob ties. Tony has seen Penelope on a date with David, making her a suspect in his case. Tony is confused when he observes Penelope visiting a Bourbon Street voodoo shop, nor why he is so attracted to someone who is obviously a prude. Penelope certainly gets his blood humming, though. Penelope is stunned by her reaction to his BEDROOM EYES after a "chance" meeting on an elevator. She is immediately attracted to Tony, which is very good, because Tony doesn't seem to be going away. With a host of quirky and charming characters like 6 inch Mrs Maebelle Merlin, Tony Penelope and David, Bedroom Eyes was one of the most fun, feel-good books I have read for awhile. Fast-paced tension, and steamy love scenes, Bedroom Eyes is sure to make the most hardened reader smile. B+

This was a fun book to read - I like her newer books better

I really thought this was a good book, but I liked pillow talk and Dear love Doctor better.

A "Charming" contemporary romance

Professionally, in under six months time, tax attorney Penelope Sue Fields has become one of New Orleans' top experts. On the romantic front, the prim and proper Penelope cannot get into the game, let alone take a swing at bat. Her only date is fellow attorney David Henson, who is so exciting Penelope has invented a lover, Raoul. Undercover police officer Tony Olano is investigating David, who has ties with the local mob. David has observed Penelope go out with David, making her a suspect in his case, but cannot understand why she keeps visiting a voodoo shop and why he seems so attracted to what is obviously a prude. Penelope is also stunned by her reaction to his BEDROOM EYES after a "chance" meeting on an elevator. Then there is the voodoo store owner, Ms. Merlin. She wants to spur the cause of love between these two lonely people, but is more apt to blunder her spells. Can even love survive a police undercover operation that places the pair on opposite sides of the case while overcoming the meddling fumbles of a good samaritan? BEDOOM EYES is a fun to read paranormal romance that dexterously combines bits of humor and magic with a passionate love story. The lead protagonists are well-developed, especially Penelope, who struggles to find more to her life. Ms. Merlin is a doll of a support player, whose spells add much fun to summer reading. Hopefully, Hailey North will return with more stories of love propelled (loosely speaking) by the meddlesome Ms. Merlin.Harriet Klausner
