Beat The Track contains the most logical, most successful, easy-to-follow selection method from an expert who has fooled the most respected handicappers This description may be from another edition of this product.
Considering myself a beginner, I find Ms. Ada Kulleck's book one of the best book for beginners. I like Chapter 2 especially because there are some great tips on eliminating horses that don't have the potential to win. By eliminating the potential losers, the few horses that stand out gives you the opportunity to narrow your focus to find the potential winner or to play them collectively on exotic wagers. I combined what I learned from Ms. Kulleck's book and also established my own system. One handicapping system will not work all the time. This is a good [$$$] investment.

This is a great starting place for beginners to horse racing, of which I add my name. I didn't know a from b.This book took me through the steps, in a very easy to understand manner. How to understand that racing form was a problem for me, this book over all the others I've read, guided me in very understandable language. I highly recommend this book especially for the beginners.

The authors share a point system they devised using the Daily Racing Form. Covers the basics of handicapping. Great for beginners who really don't know where to start with the DRF, but would like to do their own handicapping. Their system was developed around west coast tracks, a nice bonus for those of us tired of the "East Coast Bias."Usefull information for beginners and intermediate players and written in a clear and easy to read style.
A very fine book on horseracing angles.

The book covers alot of ground. Provides some interesting methods to playing horses, as well as covering both Thoroughbreds and Harness Racing. The book mostly deals with showing you, how to eliminating losers. There is some very interesting information here. Money Management is cover very lightly, as well as some systems. The closing chapter provides some interesting facts about horseracing. Overall a very good book.
