I have read this book and found it most useful for first time Beagle owners. I have 3 Beagles at home at this time, I have 2 spayed and 1 dog, he is a Champion in good standing with the AKC.I am just getting started in breeding Beagles for perserving the breed and would give this book to any of the new owners of my puppies.Sandy

I am partial to beagles. I loved this book because it provided a plethora of good, factual information from building a dog house to building a long healthy life for the hound. The photographs were superb and the beagle is shown in all of its hound glory. This book does a big service by providing tips on health care for beagles and training guides as well. It is a good starter book and is also a good book for all ages.

i'm 13 and i got this book because i love beagles, and i must say this is an excellent book. it tells what to look for in buying a puppy and step by step pictures on how to care for it. great book! great buy!

I bought this book in hopes that it would give me some useful information on how to best deal with my new beagle puppy. I was pleased to find that it contained great information on the breed in general, as well as what to look for in a breeder and pup. The book also had helpful training tips, a section on diseases and disorders, and even a description about how to build the best dog house! For such a small book, it is cram-packed with useful information and great photos too. Definitely a great choice for the Beagle owner.
