Great book for toddlers

This is an excellent book! My 2 year old learned all his shapes after I read this book to him a few times. He is a quick learner, but overall I am pleased with the colorful pages and pictures. After reading this book and learning his shapes I hear him pointing to objects that represents the shapes and saying "circle...square...oval" I'm so glad I purchased this book! It's great quality so it'll last a long time!

Great learning for kids that love Barney

My daughter just loves Barney and this book has been great in helping her learn her shapes. Shes almost two and can recognize and say all her shapes.

Fun to Learn

I have 3 young children and they all loved this book and learned their shapes (and colors) easily as they chose to read it over and over. Two of my 3 kids didn't even watch a lot of Barney. Each page has a different shape who is a "friend" of Barneys. There is a short rhyme for each one. Very cute.

Great book for learning your shapes

First, let me say that I don't care for Barney. Before my son was born I vowed that he would never watch the show or own any products. That being said, my almost 3 yr old knows almost all of his shapes (including octogon and pentagon) but he just doesn't understand that squares and rectangles are 2 different shapes. We've got books that have shapes in them but they're drowned out by colors, numbers, letters etc. This book exclusively works for shapes wich is why I bought it (but you could also use it for colors, my son already knows all of his). The rhymes make it easy for youto remember Rhonda Rectangle and Sydney square. It also explains how many points (sides) each shape has. There's a prelude and a review of the shapes at the beginning and end (it shows the shapes without the names but you can review them with your child).

This book works

This book does a wonderful job of teaching shapes. Each page introduces a new shape playing in the park, while all the other shapes are having fun in the background. All the shapes are different colors, have rhyming names, and are busy doing different activities. Therefore this book not only teaches the names of shapes, but colors and actions as well.
