I use this book in my high school English classes. It lists every book that has ever been challenged or actually banned from as long ago as 387 B.C.up through March 1999.There are over 1375 entries, some containing more than one book. Each entry includes the place the book was challenged, when it happened, and usually what the result was.In the back is a list of First Amendment court cases. There are also quotes on the First Amendment. Keep in mind that banning books for many people is an infringement on their free speech rights.I plan to get the next issue, since it will include all the Harry Potter challenges in it.If you are looking for a great resource for either personal information or in the classroom, this is the book. This has been a great book for an important subject-book banning.
