This book gives more info on the Rashid family and how Baron Von Berger made his wealth in part of the Rashids and part of his secret possession of Hitler's diary that implicates the current American President Cazalet's father during world war peace negotiations. I have read ALL of the Dillon adventures and I find them all exillarating. Jakc Higgins captivates me with each story. I find myself putting everything else aside just to find out what happens next. Who is Dillon going to kill next? I can't wait for Mr.Higgin's next book, To the point I read the other 17 Dillon adventures over again. Mr. Higgins I don't belive can disappoint me. Once you read one its just like potato chips there is no such thing as just one, you gotta have more.

Let's face it, this book is not great literature nor, I suspect, does the author intend it to be. I really think Mr. Higgins just wants to present his loyal readers with an action-packed, page-turning read every so many months, and he has accomplished that once again with this book. It's quite easy to read, and I polished it off in one sitting over about four hours. The usual group of good guys is present, with Sean Dillon given the opportunity to show what, for lack of a better term, is his "soft side" when he reacts to the murder of an elderly woman. There's the usual mayhem, with Dillon and Company prevailing in the end. Sure the plot is fairly predictable, the characters occasionally merely stick figures, but you don't read this type of book and expect to get "War and Peace"! Open it, start turning the pages, and hang on for the expected wide and wooly ride!

This is a first-rate novel by Jack Higgins. It starts out with the funeral of Kate Rashid. Also with the introducing of new villians such as the Baron and Rossi. Also with the usually heroic Sean Dillion which this time in this book. We receive a deeper insight into the human killing maching. Also Ferguson gives a few surprises. If you have been disappointment in the past by his novels. This book will more than make it up.

The Baron and his son hate the president, General Ferguson, Dillon and several of their friends for their role in the death of Kate Rashid, a terrorist wearing the clothes of a legitimate businessperson.Jack Higgins can always be counted on to give his fans a riveting thriller and his latest novel is one of his best. BAD COMPANY starts off at light speed and goes quickly into warp drive, never easing up on the throttle so that readers never quite catch their breath. There's a dark undercurrent running throughout all the characters and the only difference between the heroes and the villains is that the heroes carry a badge. This is one thriller that is on it's way to the bestseller lists.Harriet Klausner
