My little girl adores this book! She made me read it again and again and now she knows it by heart. The illustrations are charming and fun and have inspired my daughter to draw! It has quickly become a bedtime favorite!

This is truly a book for everyone. The vibrant illustrations hold the reader's attention on the page. The flow of her writing captivates your imagination as you learn more about the bugs, whose names, are quite difficult. (I agree with Ms. MacCoon on that one!) This piece is an essential book for every child's library and most simply, and importantly, makes learning fun again.

Backyard Wonders by Nancy MacCoon is a delightfully written and beautifully illustrated book. It contains factual information about backyard critters written in a way that is easily understood and enjoyed by children, as well as, adults. I use Backyard Wonders in my elementary classroom to acquaint and excite the children about life found in our own backyards. It is truly a fun book!

Our 2 1/2 year old loves the pictures. We love the facts about everyday backyard animals. From bats to pill bugs, it's an educational book that will grow with our son and, we hope, make him feel wonder for creatures often overlooked because they are so close to home. Bravo!

I've been giving this book as a gift to all my friends with kids! What an adorable book! The illustrations are colorful and fun, the information is educational but told in a light, fun way that delights the kids!! My nephew carries it around like a teddy bear! I highly recommend!
