Baby's First Year

I received this book back in 1987, when my first child was born. I followed many of the tips, especially on sleeping. Both my children slept all night at three weeks, and I never had a peep from them at bedtime. This is a must for all baby showers!

This book offers some new twists to the time honored advice that everyone has heard from their mothers, grandmothers and friends to the lady in line at the grocery store. Ms. Murphy offers practical tidbits ranging from making the baby laugh to more serious matters like leaving the baby with a sitter. All advice is offered with a sense of humor. As a mother a few times over, I can honestly say that I enjoyed the advice and found the format to be engaging and easy to read. I would definitely recommend this book, whether to a new mom or a mom for the fifth time!
