outstanding

We got this book when our first child was one year old. Not only was it her favorite, but it helped her cope with "frightening" things like lightning or moths. She loved identifying animals and insects. Now that she's begining to read, the book takes on another dimension. Excellent photos.

Clear Photo Illustrations Help My Toddler Learn

Our 17-month-old has a lot of books, and this one has been her favorite from the day it arrived. Like any toddler, she's trying to learn all she can about the world, and we try to use picture books to help. She (and we) have been frustrated by illustrations in children's books that aren't meaningful to very young children. Babies want to learn things like "How do I tell a cat from a dog from a horse?" and cute, stylized, anthropomophoric pictures of animals wearing clothes and walking erect just don't help.Baby's Book of Nature has no such flaws. The illustrations are clear, colorful, interesting, and unambiguous. My daughter loves the book because it makes sense to her, and she seems to get more out of it each time we read it together. I expect it will hold her interest for many months to come.

My son loved this book at 9 months and is still his favorite

Large colorful photo pictures that any child would love. You can follow along with different subjects on each page such as 'colors of nature' shows colored leaves of fall, brightly colored parrots, butterflies and fish. Also goes through shapes and patterns of nature, some counting, how things might feel, how animals might move ect. My son isn't even into most of these ideas at one year old but loves to point and listen to me say the names.
