A Teacher in a Book

This book literally taught my daughter all of her colors. I highly recommend it to anyone teaching colors or just to have reading-time with your child.

Great learning book

I purchased this book for my 10 month old son, who now knows colors!! He can now find colors not only in the book, but everywhere. He loves the vibrant colors and babies displayed in the book. I would highly recommed this book!!

great for first words

These books are vibrant and simple enough to teach young babies objects. My son loved them and I always give them as gifts.

My daughter loves this book!

I have no idea why, but my daughter loves this little book. She is 7 months old and this is the only book that captures her attention and holds it for 2 or 3 readings. Each page has photographed objects on it that all are the same color. In the middle of each page is a baby wearing the color of that page. The pages are: red, yellow, blue, orange, green, pink and purple, brown, black and white. It's one of those "board books" with the thick, allegedly chew-proof pages. Each object is labelled with its name. The main difference between my daughter's reaction to this book and all her other books is that she tries to hit the other ones, throw them, or she'll arch her back to get up because she's bored. Even the "feely" books don't capture her attention. But this "Baby Colors" is different. The minute I pick it up and show it to her, she is interested, and we can usually "read" it at least 3 times before she gets bored. At first I thought it was because she liked it for the photos on the pages instead of cartoons. But I have shown her other books since that had photos and she doesn't care about them. I think it might be the combination of the color similarity on each page PLUS the picture of the baby on each page that intrigues her.

A winner

My ten month old girls are endlessly facinated by this book and have been for months. They look and look at the wonderful photographs of familiar things that are all the same color and love to hear me tell them what is what.
