If a new baby is on the way, this book and a few cuddles and kisses will be exactly what you need!

Emily made lists. She didn't make grocery lists because she was too small to shop, but she did make lists of things she liked and didn't like. One day when she and her parents were having a picnic she got a BIG surprise. They told her that they were going to have a baby. At first she didn't think much about it, but as her mom's "round baby bump" grew bigger she started to worry. She shouted "That's it! I've had enough" and drove her little car into her room . . . to make a couple of lists. The first one was about why a baby was a good thing. Their heads were "soft and snuffly," you can play little games with them, you can feed them "all kinds of mushy baby food," you can take them out for walks, play in puddles and tickle them. Now those were smiley fun sorts of things to do, but her other list had reasons why a baby wasn't such a great idea. The second list was altogether different from the first. "A baby doesn't do anything except cry. WAAA!" But the worst thing of all was that Emily was feeling like she was going to be left out. Her dad took her into his lap so he and her mom could talk to her. Later she got an even BIGGER surprise than when she was first told about the baby! This is the perfect book to prepare a young child to welcome a new sibling. They often feel overlooked and need a lot of reassurance that they are still loved. Even before a new baby arrives some children feel quite stressed and tend to act out. This book was very appealing and combined with the art work it felt comforting. If a new baby is on the way, this book and a few cuddles and kisses will be exactly what you need!
