my 7th grader devoured the book

I am writing this for my 13 year old as we tried to see how this book was rated and couldn't believe there was only one review for it. My daughter purchased this book on a Wednesday and finished it on Friday. That right there says a lot. She said it was awesome and now we have the rest of the series ordered. She prefers fantasy series, like Fablehaven, The Uglies series, and nothing too heavy. She couldn't get into Twilight, the Clique series or stories with a lot of background that makes the book slow moving. I just say this because it helps to know if this book might be up someones alley. This books sounds like more of a mystery book with a girl trying to figure out who she is as she can't remember her past. There are people helping her, but they have their own motives and secrets. My child said the book left you hanging at the end and so she is eager to continue it. She also said there is no sex, drugs or anything inappropriate in the book. Just a good teen thriller. So basically, any book that my kid finishes in 2 days and she is excited about, I have no trouble giving 5 stars.

All she knows is that she's in a hospital. She doesn't know how she got there, what happened, why it happened, or even her name. She is on every form of news available but no one seems to know who she is or where she came from. Eventually the physical injuries heal, but no one is any closer to solving the original questions. The hospital has no choice but to release J.D., short for Jane Doe, to a juvenile home. And the other kids aren't thrilled to have a celebrity in their midst. Between the music in her head and the dangerous abilities she's exhibiting, J.D. isn't even sure she can trust herself, much less the woman who claims to be her mother. Dropped into a life she doesn't recognize, her only stabilizing influence is Daniel, the one friend she made at the home. Unless he, or their friendship, was just a delusion, too. A story line that I really like, but it's a bit slow to get started. Once it starts to pick up, though, it really sucks you in. Just when you feel like you, and J.D., are about to get some answers, the book ends! Thankfully, all three books of the trilogy are being released in rather quick succession!
