What You Never Knew by Jessica Hamilton🌲 First off, how great is the cover on this one?! It depicts the storyline so perfectly! For as long as anyone can remember, Averil Island has been owned by the Bennett family. It contains a 100 year old cottage and acres of forest. June now much older believed that her mother sold the island after her Father went missing when she was just a child. After the shocking and unexpected death of her sister May, June discovers that Averil Island was never sold and now belongs to her. June decides to travel back to the island after her sisters death in search of answers. Where is her dad & Why did her mother lie about selling the island? Read this thriller to find out! I found this book to be a slow burn and was not fully invested in the story until around 50-60%. It takes place in two different POV’s, the living (June) and the dead (May) which I did enjoy! I felt it often got repetitive at times and for a thriller I didn’t feel many thrills. It was more mystery for me. For those reasons, I’m giving it a solid 3.5 stars.
