A wealth of Australian designs - for both beginners and experienced quilters
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 15 years ago
If you are interested in Australian designs for your quilting and appliqués, then look no further. This book has wonderful designs of Australian flora and fauna, easy to follow explanations of techniques and much more. Whether you want to make full-size bed quilts, wall hangings or cushion covers or just wish to incorporate these designs into other worked pieces, this book is worth exploring. Sadly, this book is now out of print but some secondhand copies are available. As long as those copies are complete, they will be fine. The book includes traceable templates, step by step instructions and photographs of completed work. If you are new to quilting or appliqué, this book includes some simple projects as a good starting point. I suspect that many of us benefit by starting with a few small projects before tackling a queen size bed quilt. This book will be of specific interest to those who like Australian-based designs. The instructions are detailed and specific enough for a complete novice to follow. Trust me on this. While I have yet to work a design from this book, I will be applying the `stained glass' technique to a number of future projects. Jennifer Cameron-Smith
