Excellent USSOCOM Primer

For all intents and purposes, this book is a command history of USSOCOM. The details he provides about operations in Central America during the 1980's have not been discussed in such detail anywhere else. He also provides some of the most descriptive open source information on Delta available. My only criticism is that he draws too heavily on too few sources. Several of the chapters are based around individual experiences and are not representative of the units involved. Still, for those interested in the history of American special operations forces since the end of the Vietnam War will find this to be a most useful text.

GREAT INSIGHT

According to that last review, It's obvious that somebody does not want you to read this book . Greg Walker's account is even controversial within SPECOPS groups because most of the stuff in the book is still denied. The Chapter on El Salvador and U.S. DIRECT involvement in the war is quite revealing. U.S. soldiers knew of Human Rights abuses. He also talks about how U.S. soldiers were shot and EVEN KILLED in EL SALVADOR and the PENTAGON knocking down their awards to compliment the U.S. point of view of E.S. not being a "declared" war.
