This is a very good book for anyone interested in a general history of paratroopers, but it does not go into too much detail. In general, it is historically accurate. However, the entire section on Japanese Paratroopers is false. This is not an error of the author, however, but an error of the US government's review of the Japanese Paras that was published after WWII. The author of this book was merely following the things stated in the Government review. However, the US Government review after WWII was incorrect. Anyone looking for a history of Japanese Paras should look to the wonderful history book published by Osprey. Besides this one historical error, I found this book most enjoyable. However, it is only an introduction to the ways of the paratroopers, and it does not go into a huge amount of detail. Anyone interested in more detailed works on paras should look to the many unit specific books which are available nowadays... So, despite the fact that it isn't overly detailed, I enjoyed this book immensely. Anyone beginning to study paratroopers will benefit from this book greatly, but those who already know some things about paras might want to look elsewhere.
