As big as you by Elaine Greenstein is tender book that depicts the growth of a newborn baby. Told from a mother's perspective the child's growth is compared to the growth of seasonal fruits, vegtables, animals and plants. Although I found some of the comparisons a stretch ("- your cheeks as plump as pinecones", "your tummy was as roly-poly as a squash"), the overall content of the book was charming. The illustrations were soft, friendly and inviting. Young toddlers will definitely find pleasure in having this book read to them over and over again. As a extra bonus the book's cover also doubles as a growth chart.
