Arthur's Teacher Moves In

I received this item within 5 days of ordering it; great timing. My grandson and I enjoyed reading it together.

cute bok!! relates to a child...

It was a very cute book and I enjoyed reading it. I feel that children will be able to relate to the story. Arthur thought his life was going to fall apart when his teacher had to sleep over, but he loved it! The book was realistic in the way kids would act if they thought one of their classmates was the teacher's pet. It was great that Arthur realized that his teacher is normal like everyone else. For example, he realized his teacher wears casual clothes, loves cartoons, and knows how to have fun. Teachers can pull many lessons from this book.

Arthur's Teacher Moves in

What a situation for a young student to find themselves in--Arthur's teacher is staying with his family while repairs are being made to his roof. Arthur gets a glimpse of Mr. Ratburn as a person, rather that just his teacher. His friends turn on him because they think he is getting special treatment. When Mr. Ratburn discovers the dilemma. his solution is very original. Can be a good discussion of how teaching used to be; when often teachers did live with their students or at least have dinner at their home.

Marc Brown Never Disappoints!

Poor Arthur, his mom has just informed him that his teacher Mr Ratburn is going to be staying at their house for awhile. His roof was damaged in a storm and he needs a place to live, while it's getting repaired. Arthur is in a panic. He tells his parents that Mr Ratburn can't live at their house...it's just not right...school is school and home is home. But after Mr Ratburn moves in, Arthur finds out he's just a regular guy who wears jeans and tee-shirts around the house, watches TV and likes dessert. All goes well until Arthur gets an A on a very difficult math test. Now all his friends are mad at him. They won't stop teasing him and calling him names. Fortunately, Mr Ratburn comes up with a clever idea and saves the day.....Marc Brown has again written a funny, witty, gentle story about life's day to day ups and downs. His characters are very down to earth, their troubles, real and his solutions, always true to life. Youngsters easily identify with Arthur and the gang and learn simple lessons of how to handle everyday problems that pop up, time and again. You can't go wrong with an "Arthur" book. It's always a favorite and a great addition to all bookshelves.
