Deeply self-conscious about her severe asthma attacks, high school student Keller Parrish finds solace in the company of an attractive but mysterious boy at a remote pond, unaware that he is an insubstantial echo of a forty-year-old tragedy.
The book is good because Keller doesn't know that Tom was ghost. Keller loves him but Tom was stranger. I had old cover of the book...
An awesome book that kept you on the edge of your seat.

I would give this book five stars because I like the way it showed real teenage problems about being embarrassed and being sick. If I was the character, Keller Parrish, I wouldn't have been so embarrassed about having asthma but I'm not in her situation so I don't know what she's going through. This book was also cool because it was about a ghost who was in love with a girl but he had to leave after he saved her life. Even though it was confusing in the end it was still a very interesting book and I'd reccomend this book to any teenager who's into ghosts.
This book does a good well with typical teen problem issues.

In this book, Thesman puts together several elements that should appeal to teen readers (I'm a Language Arts teacher, grade 7). Keller has serious asthma, and this has caused her to withdraw from people. Two boys, one a ghost, teach her to trust people and be more open with other people. The "ghost" is an especially interesting character. In the end, Keller is a much happier person, even though she still has serious health problems.
So far, a nice catch to the life of a girl.

I've only started reading this book and I find it hard to put down. I read it almost everywhere I go. I find it one of the best books that I have read in my life. It is sort of like something that has happened to a friend in Missouri. Although I haven't finished it I will probably finish it by the end of 11/20/98. It is the 17.
