Ancient Rome, AD 408: Young Antonia had the misfortune to live in interesting times -- the days when mighty Rome was brought low by the terror of the Goths. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I won't be reading this book, because the type used in this cheap reprint is awful. It is like reading a badly typed term paper. It uses a "modern" type font that comes out so the letters are obviously unevenly separated, evidently when they tried to justify the text along a straight right-hand margin (who does that in a real book?), so some letters are squished, other words are spread out (i.e., the kerning is miserable). Also, the periods are often to light to see. I'm on page 5 and I give up. I do not understand why they don't just photocopy the original, which was printed beautifully in a thoroughly legible typeface (see google books).
