This book is very well written. The author's style makes it an easy read for children while also holding an adult's attention. I enjoyed the history within the story, and the perspective's from the author's great-grandmother. One of the pluses of having relatives that journal, for their posterity and for others to learn about history as it was happening. Having read other true stories about LDS struggles and travels, I am proud to say that I own four copies of this book, one for each of my three daughters (15, 13, & 9), and one for my wife and I to share. I whole-heartedly endorse this book for all LDS families. It makes a great addition to any personal library.
