Baby Touch and Feel: Animals

One year old Kaitlyn likes the pictures and likes to feel the different textures associated with them. She will seek out and pursue looking and "feeling" the book on her own. That is a BIG endorsement for this book. Good first steps in creating a love of reading for my little granddaughter.

This book is great to show babies animals and how they feel (kind of). My daughter loves this book. I've been reading it to her for months and she quietly sits there as I read each page and she touches the animals with her finger. She is now almost 10 months old and she still loves this book.

This adorable book about familiar animals creates a tactile fun filled page turning story. The book contains favorite animals like a kitten, puppy, a tiger and bunny. And you will find a few new ones to show your toddler such as a starfish and snail. As with many board books the words are kept to a minimum, but there is room for plenty of discussion as your child pets the "fur" touches the shiny butterfly and more!

This is a nice little book. Not every page really has a 'feel' feature - some of them have shiny or glittery spots rather than something for baby to feel, but still an enjoyable book. Best things about this book are: pictures of real animals (not drawings), thick padded cover, and easy to turn pages! This is one of the few board books with pages that my 14-month-old can actually turn. I wish ALL board books had easier to turn pages (even I have trouble with some!).

Absolutely adorable photos of a cat, puppy, tiger cub, baby monkey, zebra, elephant, penguin, butterfly, fish, starfish, bunny, etc. all entice little fingers to experience textures and to hear first words associated with them. What a fun and clever learning experience! Even the book's padded cover adds to the sensory delights. I can't imagine a cuter first book about animal friends to entice babies to explore the world around them. Great little book!
