An expert presents useful information on important anatomical features and directions on how to handle subjects and express their forms and postures. Topics include drawing from life, movement, and composition. 208 drawings.
I am learning how to sculpt, and this book is worth it's weight in gold. It has extremely detailed drawings as well as descriptions. It's fairly easily understood too, even if you are a new to scientific names/terms.

This book is by far the best animal anatomy book I own, out of many I've collected. Mine has been dog-tagged over and over, highlighted, and the binding even broke off due to repeated use. It's duck taped now, and is still used today. My only complaint is that this shouldn't be used totally alone. Goldfinger's book goes especially good with it. I recommend this totally to wildlife artists, and rookie concept artists looking to learn anatomy so they can stretch it for their own beasties. (Like me, whoo hoo.)
great for artists

One of the most informative animal anatomy books for artists that I have ever studied. A great resource for the artist that really wants to understand his subject from the inside out.
excellent reference

This is the best book I have found as a detailed reference for animal anatomy, with a complete description for every muscle on the horse's body. If you are prepared to do a lot of reading and in depth study, I highly recommend this book.
