Angie Zane, the heroine of Donald J. Sobol's novel, takes Encyclopedia's brains one step further. In it, she gets involved in her sister's police case when she & and boyfriend are kidnapped. Along the way, her prowess in solving cases clearly shines through and unlike Encyclopedia, doesn't mind admitting that she solved it. Sobol's clear, concise style is great for young readers. Even though this book is a little more serious than what most Encyclopedia fans might be used to, this book actually sort of makes me wonder what would Encyclopedia be like if he'd stood up for himself more often? Overall it is a fantastic book and would be a great counterpoint companionship to any Encyclopedia Brown series book
