Figuring which shape is which is fun when Angelina Ballerina teaches little ones how to recognize circles, squares, triangles and more. Full-color illustrations. This description may be from another edition of this product.
ISBN 1584856165 - As I leafed through the pages, the primary thought in my head was "okay, another book about shapes"; not exciting at all. However, the last page changed my mind! Each set of facing pages highlights a shape. On the left is the word and a white example of that shape, on the right is an illustration showing the shape in a common setting and a sentence that points out where the shape can be found. The final page, there are suggestions for ways to reinforce the lesson in fun and creative ways. I see a lot of Angelina Ballerina items, but I'm not sure of her popularity. She's likely, of course, to be more attractive to girls than to boys. The board book pages are sturdy and will take a substantial amount of wear. Katherine Holabird's text is simple and the illustrations by Helen Craig are nicely detailed, but nothing special. For me, it's definitely the fun on the last page that makes it worthwhile! - AnnaLovesBooks
