And Justice For Some (Murphy)

Wendy Murphy, a former prosecutor, knows the court system very well. She names names and gives no one a free pass in her effort to expose the true workings of our justice system. If you've ever had the unfortunate experience of being victimized by crime, or have been unfairly accused of such, this book is a must read. She also presents fair evidence detailing the manipulation of the public by the media. Facts are withheld or taken out of context to misrepresent the truth in many cases. I resent being played by savvy attornys and now I know how to fight back! If you get called for jury duty, DON'T attempt it without this as a prerequisite.

Fascinating expose and how legal system needs reform!

Wendy Murphy is a lawyer who represents victims of violent crime. She goes behind the scenes and shows us how defendants (criminals, the accused) are taken care of by the legal system more than their victims. In fact, often defense attorneys investigate victims and try to put the blame for the crime on them instead of where it belongs. Since Ms. Murphy comes from a background of having prosecuted criminals, she is well acquainted with defense attorney tactics. She gives us valuable insight into such famous trials as O.J. Simpson's and Robert Blake's and how attorneys (defense and prosecuting) and judges all made mistakes. Ms. Murphy not only goes into what's wrong with our system but also offers helpful suggestions should the reader ever end up as a victim in criminal or civil court. A well-researched and well-written book. Highly recommended. Valerie Matteson Ann Arbor, Michigan

It's about time! Thank you Wendy Murphy!

Great work by Wendy Murphy! It's about time someone had the courage to expose what goes on in our courts on a daily basis. There are many people out there with a warped interpretation of the constitution (see the post by Mr. Salem Witch trials), they shame (or sue) victims into silence and hide behind a person's right to counsel in order to promote a social agenda that puts society at risk. What law abiding citizens need to realize is that we need to stand up and put a stop to this insanity. People who commit crimes against the most vulnerable are dangerous, they're not misunderstood, and they're not victims, THEY ARE CRIMINALS and the courts have lost sight of this. This book is the real deal and it's about time people started to see the dirty tricks that are being played in our courts. Kudos to Wendy Murphy!

An eye openning book

Defense attorneys will hate this book. But if you are a victim of a crime, you need to read it. Murphy, a former prosecutor turned victim's rights advocate, shows how our system has turned its back on crime victims. For example it shows the harm our criminal justice system does to victims when we allow defendants to gain needless access to private therapy records. Did you know that if you DON'T commit a crime, you CAN'T intrude into a private person's privileged files -- but if you DO commit a crime, you can? The book is easy to read and actually never gets dry or boring. Murphy uses well known cases we all are familiar with to cover topics in such a way that you don't need a law degree to understand what she is saying. Get this book and I guarantee you will have a better understanding of what is really going on behind the scenes in high profile criminal cases.

wendy tells it like it is

I have the privilege of knowing Wendy personally, and one thing I have always admired about her is that she is FEARLESS. This woman is honest, compassionate, intelligent, a tiger in court, and a God-send to victims facing the harsh realities of the American Justice system.....It is an OUTRAGE at how corrupt the legal system has become, and how it overtly destroys many victims rights in hopes of protecting guilty offenders- All in all an excellent read- highly recommended for those sick of our corrupt justice system and looking to do something about it.
