A true but harsh look at a horrific event . . . (warning) Pictures are graphic

This book has some of the most honest pictures I have ever seen of the holocaust. The writing in the book itself is good and informative (it had details of events I hadn't heard of before). But it is the pictures that will touch something deep inside of you...revulsion, sadness, regret, anger, compassion, etc. Be prepared, for this is not a book for the faint at heart or anyone with rose colored glasses. This is a look at the cruelty humanity can reach when left unchecked. This book is a lesson in wisdom that we may learn from brutality and prevent it at all costs. All that said, it is still one of my favorite books even though I have owned it for 12 years and hardly open it now. All I have to do is look at the binding on my bookshelf and remember the lessons inside. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about this episode in human history.
