Ancient Visions: Petroglyphs and Pictographs of the Wind River and Bighorn Country, Wyoming and Montana

This is a scholar work of fine research on petroglyphs and pictographs of the Wind River and Bighorn Country, Wyoming and Montana. It covers a variety of pictures and drawings from the bi-state rock art. They ae valuable documentation left by the artists (shaman) for posterity study on the geneses of Turtle Island, as seen on page 140. In the collection of rock art, there is not much on Thunderbird, a famous motif. On page 106, there was a document of a big bird with extended feather wings. Chapters 8 and 9 are important to read on the new views on the ancient visions. Native Americans lived on the continent for thousands of years and left us their legacy. They endured and survived the hardship, Manifest Destiny and now live in Reservation. It is time to save and protect their sacred places and show our understanding and appreciation of the American heritage.
