The prose poem "I fish because..." is a classic, never to be forgotten.

If memory serves, I recall the stentorian voice of William Conrad, star of the TV show "Cannon" reading this poem while flyfishing on "American Sportsman" (probably hosted by Curt Gowdy, for whom a Wyoming state park was named). Brook trout are truly beautiful, wherever I've found them and a favorite of Dad and John Voelker's (member of my pastor uncle's Presbyterian church, though in March 1980, he was likely spending more time playing more time playing chess at the bar during the gray winter while I was visiting my Swede grandma for the last time).
This paean on fish and the fisherman explains life, and our reverence for it all.
