My children, and the kids from my preschool class, love it too. It beautifully explains seperation anxiety, (along with a solution) from the child's viewpoint. It's one in a series of books tackling serious childhood issues.

I find the Llama Llama kids show to be really well done and cute. The book is a fun read with an excellent rhyming pattern. That said I find book version Llama to be a little whiney and will probably stick to the show. My inner book worm never thought I would prefer a tv show to book series but here I am.

This was the very first book my 18 month old sat still to read. We received this book as a gift, and LOVE it. Being from the midwest, we do say "puh-JAAAAA-muh", so it requires changing our accent to make the book rhyme. We saw a photo of this book on a bulletin board at a bookstore about a month after we began reading the book, and my son instantly recognized it, pointed to it and started shouting "mmammma...mmmaaammma."...

I certainly liked this one and the kids I read it to, like it too, which is actually a pretty good indorsement for a kids book. This book addresses the common fear so many young children have when their mom leaves the room at night (I had the same fear as the baby Llama when I was that age, years and years ago...some things never change).
