Introduction of Information Sciences

A real basis for the individual interested in getting to know a rising field. The theory of course is timeless and in a world where we now face information in every direction this makes sense of it. Add this to your bookshelf it is affordable and something you'll often cite.

Good ... but old.

This text was written by a professor here, at the University of Pittsburgh, and it is the required book for Intro. to Information Science. The text is very well written and easy to follow. It has lots of examples to drive home the topics. However, it was written in 1987. Lots of things have changed in computers since then. This text is best used for theory. With a newer text supporting it with information about current computer technology.
