A Great Help

I have been struggling with writing something that I believe God called me to write. This book really helped me look at the reasons as to why I am writing from a completely different point of view. I highly recommend this to anyone who believes they have been called to write, but are having hardships or difficulty starting at the beginning or getting to the end. It doesn't tell you how to write - but it inspires you to let poetry drip from your tongues like honey! If you are called to write for Him...you have one heck of a duty on your shoulders.

A Classic How-to Writing Book for Christians

Ethel Herr is a remarkable writing teacher and this book takes every reader by the hand and guides them through the beginning questions with solid answers and exercises. The simplicity of this book combines with depth and experience about the Christian market to make it a must-have for every Christian writer. Take the pages apart, study them and work through each assigment to improve your own skills.

A Sincere Review (this is not for fluff)

Ethel Herr's book is the most inspiring instructional book I have ever read - on any subject. Within just a few pages, she somehow becomes personally involved in the reader's development as a writer. Her overview on "What is a Christian Writer" really does go to the heart of writing as an art form, what it means to be a writer, and understanding the impact of your work. Most of all, I appreciate the integrity of her work and the simplicity with which she writes. She emphasizes that a writer's craft must be developed with a heart for truth and sincerity as well, no matter what you write; and that you must take responsibility for what you produce. I've gotten more out of a few sections of her book than I did taking a writer's course. It is something to be experienced, not merely read. Thank you Ms. Herr.

very helpful material - not necssarly with a Christian focus, but rather on the semantics of writing. Gave good ideas for organizing thoughts, publiations for the aspring writer.

A"Must Have" Christian Writer's Companion

This book is indispensible for the apprentice Christian Writer. If you hear the call to write as a Christian Writer this is the book to spiritually and technically get you going in the direction that God is calling you. If you can't afford joining the Christian Writer's Guild's two year course, Ethel Herr stands in as your mentor and guides you through the learning process, developing your disciplines and skills. Everything you need to get going as a Christian writer is in this book. Her exercises and assignments really work your writing muscles. Buy your Christian Writer's Market and this book...you will be good to go. I highly reccommend this book for every writer's library.
