A Great Book!

I read all the reviews on this book, and saw alot saying it was horrible. I don't agree. I got it to read for a book report in English, and ended up reading it twice! *and this is a big step for me, because most books I read have no more than 250 pages in them*. I also hope to buy it, so I can read it as many more times as I can. I do want to read the first one as well. I do wonder about the back of the book, where it talks about Locke, but I don't worry much. I like the whole thing with Len as well. Len, Jhesti, and Fitz are 3 of my fave people, with Lord Disaster being my 4th fave. I reccomend anyone who likes long books to read this. No matter what others miht say, I think it's great!

Different, but definitly interesting.

I bought "A Hero Born" because of my interest in Mr. Stackpole's writing style. I'd read his X-Wing series, and was intrigued, and wanted to read some of his other material. In reading it, and this book, I learned that he is in fact a gifted writer, not only in science fiction. His wit and sense of humor show clearly in his writing, as does his storytelling ability. While the Realms Of Chaos books might not be for everyone, I recommend it for anyone who's a fan of Stackpole's work, or anyone who enjoys a good fantasy novel.

Very interesting tale of Magic and Ancient Warfare

An Enemy Reborn is not nearly as bad as every one else says it is. I will admit that it has an abrupt ending, and a total lack of any sort of anti-climax. Aside from that it added much more depth to the magic and combat that was started in A Hero Born. If you liked A Hero Born and enjoy reading Michael Stackpole books then I think that you should at least give this one a chance. I almost didn't read it because of all of the negative reviews, and think that i would have really missed out if I had listened to them.

Not like the first one, but not too bad

After having just finished this book, I would have to say that it isn't that bad. True, Stackpole did abandon the hero from the first novel, but it is explained why in the afterword. He did expand upon the previous characters rather nicely in this novel however. The main character here, Len Fong, could be anyone who ever day dreamed about being transported to the fantasy world they read everyday. I liked the way he put Fong in the world and left him there till the end. He didn't flip back and forth between worlds. All in all I would have to say its a buy. I do hope he continues the series as well as his Talion series. Keep up the good work Stackpole!!!

This is slow getting off, but great once you get into it!

This book starts off in the future and is quite confusing at first, but after 2-3 chapters everything starts to fall into place. There are some old faces, but there are also new heros and better and stronger enemies. If you like fantasy books and excitement, I would recommend this book.....but remember this is book 2....book 1 is " A Hero Born."
