Not the Amish way to cook.

Due to the title, I expected to get a cookbook that had recipes the Amish actually use. You know, the stuff they sell at farmers markets... Instead I got a cookbook that has ingredients like Rice Krispies, frozen whipped topping, packaged taco seasoning and Velveeta cheese. The Amish do not cook out of tin cans nor do they they have freezers. The book says these are recipes "handed down for generations." I seriously doubt they've been using frozen whipped topping for generations.
Badly edited. "Hints" are repeated and used as fillers. Ingredients are measured as "a box or a package" without ounces, cups, etc. There are ingredients missing that a bread maker would recognize as missing such as yeast and water from the sourdough recipe.
I would not trust the canning recipes either. There are no details that guarantee safe canning. There is no explanation for the methods used to can other than to say put it in a sterilized jar and seal it up. Do not use these recipes for canning unless you want botulism or are an experienced canner that knows how to fix the recipes.
The only Amish thing this is good for is to use it to start a fire.
