American Government: A Core Approach [With CDROM]

We used this book in Prof Giardino's US Govt class (on-line class) and I come out of the class knowing much more about the inner workings of government than I ever did. It is a pre-req course for my degree but I went in open minded wanting to know how things worked behind the scenes in our government. Some of the reading is pretty intense as far as having to learn so much as you go, it may seem boring at times but in the end it all adds up to the hows and whys of things that happen in government. I'd recommend this simply if you want to learn more and learn about some of the terms you hear on the media ("spin doctors", "ear-marks" , etc). Very interesting and pretty up to date with a little bit of Texas government thrown in.
