Vast, Sweeping, Comprehensive

This is a long and dense history book. It is thoroughly referential and noted. I cannot imagine this same history told with more detail unless it went to multiple volumes. Begins with Franklin and goes forward from there with no spare of depth. I'd expect everyone interested in the history of American foreign policy to have this edition on their shelf.
