A wonderful parade, with spectators playing a big part!

I thought this alphabet book was one of the most creative I've ever seen! What I loved the most was the way the parade spectators were a big part of the story---just about every one also stood for the letter of the alphabet they were viewing. Probably EVERY one did, but some of the references are so clever and non-standard that I couldn't figure them out---always fun to be able to read a book on a couple levels so I stay interested and my 2 year old does too! For example, Cronus was watching the C part, Flappers were in the F part of the parade, a Viking watched the V part...neat! The people viewing are along the page bottom. The parade itself is quite a show, with lots of details, and often the things representing the letters also somehow show the letter visually. Very creative and something we will read over and over!
