My daughter who is 4 has been taking ballet since she was 2 and loves this book! She likes to say she's Amanda. We have a great time reading this book together and the illustrations are beautiful. The back page titled Fluency Fun helps your child understand the flow of reading and it's fun to do. If your little girl takes dance and loves prancing around in her tutu then she will love this book!
All Tutus Should Be Pink

When I was about 3 I absolutely loved this book. It was my all-time favorite. That was because I now have done ballett for 13 years, and I liked it then because it was something I could relate to. How I absolutely loved my tutu, and always wanted to wear it. Also because the 2 girls in the book are best friends. And my best friend at the time was in my dance class also. So my mom always used to read this to me and I finally memorized it, and when I went to dance I would impress everyone because I could read it. It is an easy-read book and all girls will like it.

My daughter (age five) really liked this book. It, and it's companion bok "Best Friends Wear Pink Tutus," are both very nice stories that are simple, and show how friends can have fun together and enjoy ballet. I think the friendship part is actually more central, but if your child is interested in ballet, this is a way to empahisize the good things abuot friendship, while using ballet as the thing to get them reading.
IT IS NOT SHALLOW

This book is NOT shallow. I recieved it as a chicken-pox-present (long story) when I was a little kid and loved it. Little girls often go through a "pink phase" and anyway, what is wrong with a pretty tutu? Although my interest in ballet lasted only a few years, this book delighted me as a child. And it certainly does not say that ballet is easy or shallow; anyone with half a brain knows that!
a story about friendship and little girls having fun

The little girls in the story are primarily concerned about the things in their day to day life -- just like kids are everywhere. They are confident and have fun together!
