This is a good story. But it’s nothing new or ground breaking. I liked the main character, Allie. She had a strong personality and I want all Muslim girls to be unapologetically themself like how Allie was.
The reason why I didn’t give this book 5 stars is because it was realllllly long when I honestly do not think it had to be.
Additionally, I think the author should’ve made sure she didn’t confuse Islam with her westernized ideologies. Islam has a strict view on dating. There’s no such thing as halal dating. Why was she trying to push it and make it seem normal? Idk. I understand Allie was new to Islam. But rules are rules. If you break them, that’s fine, but don’t try to make it seem like the rules are the things that are wrong and need to be changed. This book def has liberal sprinkled in it but it wasn’t like overboard or anything.
