ISBN 0716616122 - Printed in the United States of America. Non-fiction books for very young readers have a weird tendency to patronize, I assume unintentionally. Finding one that doesn't do that, that answers questions in a pretty straightforward way that children can still grasp, is always a pleasure. Inspector McQuestion, McQ for short, has learned some facts about the human body and shares the information with the reader. From "why are you growing?" to "what does it mean to be color blind?", the inspector has an answer. The illustrations, by Joan Holub, are really perfect for this book. They're bright and colorful and most are funny, but they're not so great that they'd distract from the learning aspect of the book. Yes, I just said not being great makes them perfect. Author Patty Rutland Mullins does a good job of making the answers to questions real and informative without being boring. I'm only sad to realize that Inspector McQ seems to have disappeared after this title. Homeschooling parents might find this book right up their alley. - AnnaLovesBooks
