All Aboard the Circus McGurkus (Dr. Seuss Nursery Collection)

All Aboard the Circus McGurkus is a unique book. Instead of having pages to turn, it folds out into a long "sheet." Since it is a board book, the sheet is really sturdy and can stand up on a table or on the floor. There are fun little activities like lifting a flap or pulling a tab that make the book interactive. This is great for little ones. <3

As always, Dr. Seuss has done a great job capturing the imagination and attention of children with this wonderful book. (This book is actually one taken from a full-length book he wrote, "If I Ran The Circus".) The fact that it is a board book is a major plus as I have a 2 year old who can be rough on books. The only thing I did not realize was that it is has flaps to open and see pictures underneath. I am not crazy about the flaps as they could be torn off but other than that, my kids and I just love it!

It was a bit difficult for me to figure out the order for the story since I'd never read it until I had to read it to my class, so the pull out book was an interesting challenge. Yes I know what kind of an airhead sound like. But a cute story.

Our daughter isn't old enough to read this book yet and we hardly have had a chance to read it to her because the wonderful bath time format has made this one of her favorite toys with which to play. She carries it with her around the house and flips and bites the pages. We can only imagine how much fun she'll have when she can read it and use it in the bath.
