Book fell apart

Book fell apart before I could even read it. Waste of money.

A Fun Trashy Read, but Nuggets of Truth!

I read this when I was in Air Force ROTC 15 years ago. I thought a lot of it was exaggerated at the time but after spending 10 years in the Air Force, both as an officer and as an officer's wife, I saw many of those seemingly outrageous behaviors quite true. The very first officer's wife I ever encountered upon commissioning wore her husband's rank on her own sleeves. This was an exciting book that mixes seduction and drama with 24/7 round-the-clock hectic military lives. The only negative comment I have is that if you're unfamiliar with the military lifestyle the book can potentially be confusing. Ms. Walker does her best to explain acronyms, but even I was a bit overwhelmed...as a military brat/wife/member!

Loved the Book

I read the book about 4 years ago, my sister gave it to me because she thought the title sounded like me. I have been married to a guy in the military since 1989. He was then enlisted and has since become an officer so I see both sides. The book was so true and funny, sexy and wild. I loved reading about other people having the same thoughts as me in the Air Force. A lot of it did it home. It put a hint of humor back into my life. I have passed the book on to whoever wants to read it, we all sign it and put a comment or 2. It has been traveling around for 4 years now. I recommend the book to anyone thinking of getting into a military relation. Not to discourage them, but to help them realize life is not to be take too seriously and you can have some fun.

Air Force Wives

As an Air Force Wife for the past 20 years, I find much of what is in this book to be very close to the truth. I identified most with the young woman who married the enlisted man and with her feelings about the double standards in the military. What I wonder now, is why hasn't anyone in Hollywood turned this into a mini series. It has all the glitz and glamour, happiness and heartaches that we all look for in a good mini series.
