Very good introduction to Aikido.

If you are interested in a good introduction to Akido. this book is a pretty good place to start.English is not the authors first language. but he has done extremely well in conveying the message. The illustrations are a bit crude in my opinion. I have no right to complain because I doubt I could do as well.I must say one thing in praise of this book. At least this book deals exclusively with the subject of Aikido. Very much unlike "The Way of Aikido" that I reviewed earlier. If you have questions or comments; E-mail me. Two Bears.Wah doh Ogedoda (We give thanks Great Spirit)

Simple book about Aikido in life.

Learn about the simplicities and principles behind aikido...One may imagine learning more about Aikido in this book than other bigger tomes about this exotic japanese martial art.Great book for the beginning martial artist who chooses to study aikido.

Excellent, Aikido is grace in motion. . . great book!

This is a must read for those of who have been looking for a fresh approach to the martial arts. I first read the book and then had the luck to enroll in Gaku Homma's school. Aikido is something you can really approach with a beginner's mind and learn lessons for life.

A enjoyable book detailing the purpose of Aikido

I read this book on a train journey from Amsterdam to Brussels and I found it to be a delightful companion. The essence of the book is that Aikido is a Way of life (not just a philosophical way) and that Aikido is more than just a martial art or throwing people about. It is a easy book to read, and I must say that the drawings are the most noticeable and endearing aspect of this authors books. Simply, it is to be enjoyed and read again.
