Book Overview

In a novel that races along like a hot desert wind, Freedman unleashes "one of the most extravagantly entertaining thrillers of the year" (Kirkus). Justice is blind--especially for criminal attorney Will Alexander who's trying the most hopeless case of his career. Convinced that his two motorcycle gang member-clients are innocent of murder, Will now must prove it to a ruthless D.A., a doubting judge, and a hostile jury.

The best fiction book about law and lawyers!

Courtroom thrillers don't get better than this! Thgis has everything I wanted in a great rival of John Grisham. Don't forget to pick up a copy of this fast paced thriller. I simply could not put it down! Un-down-putable!

Excellent Book

This book is another victory for this author. I have read Key Witness and The Disappearance and this one was just as good, if not better. I really enjoyed the plot, and the fact that there were subplots within the story of the main character's personal life. If you pick this up, be prepared to not be able to put it down.

100% What a roller coaster ride! Exceptional.. Excellent

Not a wasted word. A Perfectly told story about a lawyer et al defending four men accused of murder. The book is alive and truly interesting and exciting because it's so real... possible The characters are believable down to earth people. The story could be real. (none of that arrogant mr/ms perfect, rich lawyer in their $3,000 power suits etc. etc. defending some billionaires daughter...blahblahblah.) Told in a full and rich manner. 3D. Like I said, not a wasted word. Nice humor as well. Will's first impression of one of the four motorcycle members. "He's huge, the baby of the group. Red hair in a bowlcut and freckles: Huck Finn in your worst nightmare." It was a joy to read....I couldn't wait to get back to it each night. I'll be reading J. F. Freedman from here on out. He is head and shoulders above the rest. An excellent story teller. I highly recommend this book. The only thing missing from Against the Wind is an Epilogue.

His best

J. F. Freedman has the ability to make sympathetic characters out of people that I would normally hate. I could not put this one down. I will admit that his plot devices make the good guys really good and the bad guys really bad. However, he manages to make all his characters believable.

Great read ,very provocative, court room drama!

After picking up "The Obstacle Course" in a book trader and loving it,I could'nt wait to read "Against the Wind". I like the way Freedman tells the story in the first person, feeling sorry for his character Will Alexander. The court room action is BETTER in my opinion then John Grisham. I say JF FREEDMAN is the real thing!
