When Evil Hungers For Your Soul

This book was awesome from the first chapter to the last. A cross between the The legendary Donner Pass cannibal story an old fashioned ghost story, "The Shining" ect. A synopsis from the back since one wasn't provided above: When Sunlight Fades- The Nightmare Begins... The Butlers and Pruetts were the best of friends, the warmest, most loving of neighbors. And when six-year-old Robin Pruitt died-so suddenly, so tragically-the two families decided to get away from it all. To heal their souls in a quiet, isolated cabin, high in the Wasatch Mountains. It seemed like a good idea. But... How could they have known that a raging snowstorm would trap them in a living nightmare far more horrifying than death or grief? Why would they believe that silly, gruesome legend of madness and bloodshed that consumed four starving souls, a hundred years ago, on that godforsaken mountain? And when would that terrible, endless hunger for revenge rise up and feed on the living, once again? After Sundown It's Time To Scream For Your Life!! If you enjoyed this book try "Chiller" by Randall Boyll it's even better

3.5 stars is more accurate for this sometimes creepy novel

Two families decide to get away for the weekend after a family member's death. They escape to Spike Mountain which is for the most part uninhabitated. Snow and cold force them to stay inside this cozy cabin talking of local legends of what took place years ago on this very same mountain. From there the evil starts to occur. The people become possessed by the mormans who lived on that mountain and they cannot escape through all their efforts. I won't give any more away but this book has some extremley creepy, sometimes terrifying parts to it. I've heard Randal Boyll is an underestimated and underappreciated writer. After reading this book that was recommended by a family member I'd have to agree. My only complaint with this novel is that the last forty pages take away from this novel. I would have put a different spin on it if I were the author, but overall still a great read. Characters: 3.5; Pace: 4; Plot: 3.5; Scare factor: 4; Ending: 3
