African Saints, African Stories: 40 Holy Men and Women

I enjoyed this book very much, learning a little about well-known saints like Augustine and a lot about lesser known heroes like Pierre Toussaint. I don't typically think of Augustine and his mother, Monica, as African, so the reminder was most welcome. I would have given the book 5 stars if it had a narrower focus, that is, saints actually from Africa, not just with African heritage. It is an excellent book, a welcome addition to any Catholic home library and perfect annual reading for Black History Month.
